Walking Award Participation

Notes:

Fitness Walking

If your one-mile time is 13 or minutes or more, you are eligible to participate in the competition for walking awards as a Fitness Walker.

  1. Have your number "slashed" in blue at the Central Florida Walkers' table.
  2. You will be judged according to one of the racewalking rules.
    No Lifting (One foot must be in contact with the ground at all times — that means no jogging.)

Racewalking

If your one-mile time is less than 13 minutes you are eligible to participate in the competition for walking awards as a Racewalker.

  1. Have your number "slashed" in red at the Central Florida Walkers' table.
  2. You will be judged to both of the racewalking rules.
    • No Lifting (One foot must be in contact with the ground at all times — that means no jogging.)
    • The supporting leg must straighten at the knee momentarily as it passes under the body.
